At Last year's Race on February 27, 2021, at West Mountain.....

Albany Ski Club placed in the top group of finishers for the year!

In all, 42 racers participated in the West Mountain Race on February 27.  There were 13 juniors and 29 adults.  Albany Ski Club, Out of Control Ski Club, Schenectady Winter, and the Nubian club were present.  The trail was graced with 4" of fresh powder.  West did a fantastic job.

About Racing with the Albany Ski Club

The Albany Ski Club supports racers of all ages and abilities Currently there are 3 to 4 races per year. Different clubs sponsor each race as well as  a race sponsored by the New York Capital District Ski Council.  The races are similar to NASTAR race courses and are designed specifically so that all abilities are able to participate. You must sign up for a specific category before the races, and they are: Juniors (under 18), Open Class (anyone can enter), Veterans (40+), Super Veterans (55+). In other words, you have the option of racing in the open class (more competitive) or racing in your age category.

Most races begin at 10:00 AM. and are over by approx. 11:30 AM. Registration begins at 8:30 AM in the base lodge.

You must notify the club race chairman if you intend to race. Pre-registration is required (you can also register that morning, but more the exception and not the rule!) . Please contact: racing@albanyskiclub.com.

Awards are given out at each race for most categories.

***IMPORTANT*** All racers are required to wear helmets
